Brit Car spectator views...

A lot of the comments on here are from the entrants views so I thought I would post a few comments from a spectator...
1. The ticket pricing needs to be sorted out. Paying £30 for a weekend of racing when I could only attend on the one day on Saturday is a joke (especially when Le Mans 1000km cost me £20). Obviously if it does revert to the 24 hour format then £30 is very reasonable.
2. I presume this is more of a Silverstone problem than Brit Car organisation (?) but the leader-board showing all cars positions was stuck showing the positions from very very early on in the race.
3. The commentary wasn't the best which made 2 above more of a necessity. I think this was more to do with not enough spotters around the circuit or information being fed to the commentators, rather than them being poor as such.
4. If it does revert to the 24 hour format then camping from all perspectives would be a necessity and therefore if the race is held more in the summer months it would be better weather-wise (hopefully!). Not sure costing-wise how this would effect everything...I presume it would be a lot more expensive.
5. Again due to 2 above it would be nice if the results were published ASAP so one can find out exactly what happened!

I really enjoyed the race! As for the timings if you went over the bridge into th the paddock it was just to your left next to the burger stand!! I would have loved to see the 24hr this year but still the little rain we had gave us a bit of entertainment on the exit of Luffield with The Rollcentre Mosler having a wiggle and a 1 series looping it!!

As I said I am not saying the commentary was poor (I agree with you I quite liked a few of the discussions they had, etc) but I am talking more about informing the spectators around the circuit what was happening within a relatively good time, which when night time comes is even more important. For example, it took them a long while to find out that the Paragon car had gone off even though it was clearly visible from that part of the circuit, which at the closing stages was pretty important. Maybe as you said they need to know where the nob is (the TV that is).
I agree the many spins, etc made it exciting when it rained but come the 24 hours (fingers crossed) I am a soft b*stard and don't want rain if camping.

The scoreboard really got to me too. It worked for all the support races (all days) but then got stuck after about half an hour for the main event.
I thought the commentary was spot on and it was a great finish apart from the penalty given right at the end, which was unfortunate.
I have been to the race since 2006 and having experienced the 500, good as it was to watch, the 24h is my preference. I also think it attracts more of the Production style cars which are fun to watch as it gives you that 'I could buy one of those and do that' feelings. That can only help the series attract more competitors surely.
