Question:

Is 90 mins too short? or am I just bias as this only involves one fuel/driver change stop, and we have three drivers,(and I use the term with full modesty),to accommodate.

120 minimum suits us on the three driver side as it's a two stopper but how do the rest of you feel in terms of time in the car, costs etc etc. I only mention this as Britcar are no doubt planning next seasons races and I've not seen any discussion about the views teams and drivers may have on here.

I feel the same Rod, and there are only 2 of us to change in pitstops. 90 minutes is too short in my humble opinion. I have mentioned to James in the past that i feel that endurance, in my eyes, is ideally 3 hours plus, but i also understand the economics of removing the potential of further revenue being created by support races. In the perfect world it would be 3 plus every race.

There is also the train of thought that if you were to have 2x90 mins in one weekend, you do allow for the opportunity of teams being able to not have a ruined weekend if they encounter mechanical issues in one of the races.

VdeV/Dunlop Challenge/VLN etc. all have a bare minimum of 3 and anything up to 12.

Tell you what would be a great idea, a historic endurance race on the same weekend, i would be more than happy to enter that!

2 x 90 mins would be ok, and as you say if there was a problem in the first one, there would be time to fix it by the second race.

Guess we will just have to wait and see what Britcar come up with, lets hope the one off 90 min races, if any, are kept to a minimum

I have no idea... what is the marginal cost to teams?

Tyres, fuel and a bit more wear and tear?

the beef I always had with shorter races is that when you have a car like the Elise, your strong points are fuel econ, so in 4 hours I would plan on 1 stop vs. 2 for the heavier runners, this then gave us a chance.

Also, 90 min race is a one driver deal IMHO, 3 is the minimum IMHO....

3hr races would be great, In a shoestring team like ours it would allow a 3rd driver to get involved and split costs further, 90 mins seems too short regardless.
