Hello all, and Oulton...

First of all, Hello all! It's Dave Stewart (Tommy's son). Thought as I've now experienced racing from the driving seat I'd join up, haha!

Snet relay race was awesome - thoroughly enjoyed myself and have definately caught the bug... Apparantly I did quite well too so I'm told, which is always good to know!

Anyway, for Oulton, me and dad are hoping to be there spectating (I definately will be anyway!) and so wondering if there are a couple of tickets going free by any chance?? I'd be grateful of any!

No he wont, he did exceptionally well for his first time out on track, and i'm a very proud dad, I couldnt make the journey, but was kept well up to date throughout the day, and some very good friends and ex mechanic looked after him very well!!!, the car stood up to the relay very well, all told i think it did 2 1/2 hours running time, as others fell by the wayside!!!, the only problem dave had was a missing 5th gear half way through the day, which at snett is not good, so a winter refurb for ME and the car, will possibly see two stewarts on track!!!, hope to see you all at oulton, but chemo starts on tuesday for three days solid, so may not be up to it, have fun see-yaall soon TOM.

As dad says, I won't be racing at Oulton no. I thoroughly enjoyed the time I had on track but as the car needs attention to gearbox plus the financial side (I can't afford it!!) means I'll be there spectating only. See what happens for next year...

Hi Cliff - yeah it was good to meet you to other than the quick Hello's exchanged at circuits!! Your son did a great job team managing too!

I must say I did have a right good time yeah, just toying with what to continue my racing "career" in now... But before I can do that there's a project sitting here in my garage that needs to be built up so I've got space!! - Already had the tape measure out and 2 cars won't fit...

See you all Saturday, and some of you Friday night if your at the hotel!?

Thanks, Josh really enjoyed it and I thought he did a good job too, while we had 3 cars running it was near enough perfect.

Haven't had time to look at the motor yet, should be up at Joos place in a few weeks time. Will know more then.

Though I didn't get beyond my first session at the Snett endurance race 2 weekends ago, having spun and been clipped by an MGB and then being unable to restart, the good news is that the consequent electrics problem (suspected fuel pump related) has been resolved by fitting a new fuel pump relay (coroded contacts) and by replacing the fuel pump fuse (also corroded contacts) and, with a rudimentary first attempt at fibre-glass repairs, my Griff will be at OP this weekend, albeit the front end cannot be described as concours!
I suppose the lesson for me is that an open Griff in its 5th season of racing is bound to have electrical problems.
At least the Group B entry at OP has now increased by 50%!
