And who said fuel preservation races are not exciting, that was the most exciting final 20 laps ever.
Cannot understand why Roger Penske did not call Brisco in earlier and give him, say 20 laps to catch the light footed Dario rather than the 8 or so laps he had? Guess they were just holding out for a yellow that never came.

I see a pattern emerging with Dario and his championship wins. But I don`t really care how he does it tho as long as he wins them thats all that matters, it does annoy me that he never gets any press back here. All the papers seem to care about are what the blue or green and white team are doing with themselves.
He certainly doesn't get the recognition he deserves in Britain, twice Indycar Champion, joint top points scorer another year, the year Montoya got the title on most wins.
He is more famous in the US than in his own country, but with the money in his pocket, a top car to drive and a filmstar wife, I don't suppose that bothers him too much.

Too old now, isn't going to happen, after he came equal on points with Montoya, but was pipped as Montayo had most wins he was rumoured to have an offer to test for Jaguar, from what I remember he said he would rather stay with a winning team in CART than a struggling team in F1. I would liked to have seen him in F1 though, as he seems to do better on the street circuits than the ovals I think he would have done OK.Corpulent Tosser said:

IIRC he was linked to the Jaguar drive many moons ago, probably because of the Stewart connection. Bet he's not too disappointed to have missed out...

Not quite the full story - he didn't impress when testing, and discussions faltered.The above makes it look like he turned down a drive in the Jag - he didn't.
There was a fair bit of disappointment all round as it was thought he'd go well in F1 but for whatever reason, it didn't happen.
I'm pretty sure he's happy being one of the biggest "draws" in Indy (Danica aside) and the money must be enough to see him comfortable.
Few if any regrets I'd imagine.

Unsurprisingly, Dario was none too happy. He also realised any thoughts of a move back to Europe were effectively ended and he fully committed himself to the US.
