I'm amazed at the regard in which SPOTY is held.

If I had won the WDC the last thing I'd be interested in would be where I finished in a BBC popularity contest.

Nope. We're in teh build up to the Olyzzzzzzzzzzzz sorry the olyzzzzzzzzzz damit! Olympics. So expect it to go to someone who wore something skin tight.

I'd like to see Rubens given an award though. Personality wise from all the F1 drivers he's the man....just not british.

What else is in contention? The only successes I can think of are the Ashes (team award, although can't help feeling Brawn's achievement is far greater, bias notwithstanding) and the gymnastics one from Sunday which isn't an Olympic win.

Jessica Ennis won gold in the Heptahlon. The Cricket Boys(Strausse) and no doubt Amir Khan will be up there somewhere. Last time i checked, Jenson was favourite behind Jessica.

There's bound to be a footballer nominated because he scored a goal or something

it depends on what this award is for? Is it about the biggest acheivment in sport? If so, i'd always give it to a sports person who didnt use a car to do most of the work 4them, if i was a pro boxer or athelete,i'd be pissed off knowing that down to a team of engineers who gave them one of the best cars, won the award. If button or ham didnt have a gd car,they WOULDN'T have won the wdc, the boxer or athelete would still have won there event down to their own body.

Perhaps the beach ball for its goal last weekend deserves a mention too for its contribution to the entertainment

Button will probably win. Lewis would have won but he was lacking in any form of personality or charisma.

yup, people winning a once in 4 years event vs a yearly one, and tbh lewis will win the WDC again so why rush to give it too him.
