He couldn't cut it in the GP2 series (and 4th in GP2 Asia), so switched to WSBR this year and finished second to Bertrand Baguette who has not dominated in any previous championship.

Now he reckons he's ready for F1. If he gets the drive, it will be purely due to $$$ and his Malaysian connection.

I really hope the team chooses more promising talents.

Interestingly, Trulli is also linked with the team.

Old news, it was in the local papers the day after the anouncement of the team. If you think he's bad then you really ought to see the other 5 names thay have on the short list they published.

I would think it's more likely that Lotus will opt for one experienced driver, and one hot-shoe upstart from GP2 - which Fauzy isn't.

Who that experienced driver will be is going to be the interesting bit.

I reckon Pantano has to be on someone's list somewhere.

As I mentioned, Trulli has been linked to the team. So he could be their old hand. That's if the rumour is true, and that he is willing to accept a deal with Lotus, rather than the better-funded Toyota team.

That's interesting, I know from a very good source that Glock is also linked to anonther team. Both Trulli and Glock looking elsewhere, you would expect Toyota to keep one or the other. Could they be off next year as many predicted?
