Does anyone have any figures of what the Prize money is in F1? What would Brawn make from winning both Championships and what was the difference between finishing 3rd and 4th with regards to Mclaren & Ferrari?
I know that the majority comes from sponsorship but what is the breakdown in prize money.

3.1 The Commercial Rights Holder shall divide the Prize Fund into three (3) parts and pay the share due to the Competitor in accordance with the provisions of this Clause 3, as follows:
A )twenty per cent (20%) according to final qualifying results;
B) forty-five per cent (45%) according to race results;
C) thirty-five per cent (35%) by way of fixed compensation.

I'm not sure what the prize is for 3rd and 4th but after spygate a large amount of mclarens fine was paid by the prize fund (50mil or so) so its quite allot of money.I know that the majority comes from sponsorship but what is the breakdown in prize money.

I'm too lazy to check out the precise numbers, but for '08 the Alpha Beta Gamma Zulu Foxtrot thingy had revenues of a bit over $1B, IIRC, of which 50% should have gone to the teams.
The McLaren fine was for '07, when the revenue pot was $900-something, and all the teams would have had, say, $470m to whack up. McLaren had to forego about $55m, AIUI, from prize money, the rest coming directly from their pockets. That $55m was for finishing 2nd according to the FIA system (under which Max Mosley called the stewards in Hungary and decreed that McLaren would be allowed no WCC points for that race because one or both of its drivers had impeded the other. There was no penalty on the drivers, because Mosley didn't have a personal grudge against them. Without the Max Factor, McL would have finished 1st that year.)
So $55m was for 2nd from a pool of about $470, or about 11.7% of the pool, although not of the points pool.
Regarding the points pool, the current split as described to me by a team principal was slightly different from what plg101 says, but I wouldn't know which is right. Of the fixed amount, a chunk goes to Ferrari off the top. Of the remainder of the fixed amount, it is divided evenly amongst all teams including Ferrari. If half the pool of $470 were to be allocated according to WCC position, in McLaren's case that would have been $22m from the fixed cut and $33m out of $235m for having finished 2nd, so about 14%.
