I stood in for Sandro at the farewell for the Stratos, and know a little about the car, having given it it's only forest rally win. Can you send me a bigger version of the decal, as I cannot read or enlarge the one on this website. I can ask the question for you if I know what I am asking.

Andy - thanks for showing an interest. Respect! I'm following up a request on Stratossupersite forumI'm sure you'd be welcome on there for a trip down memory lane! Unfortunately that's the clearest picture of the decal we've got. Hopefully someone will recognise the shape/layout of the logo.

• sigh* Sandro Munari, Stratos, pissing it down, dawnish highlight, foggy...A HOWLING PIERCING SHRIEK, SIDEWAYS, GRAVEL...a departing echo as some tailights flicker out of sight again...

djc - i got similar memories of keilder, grizedale etc from the good old days of a 5 day long lombard rac rally. cold, wet november evenings in bloody miserable forests. waiting.... & then you hear the noise of a quattro bouncing off the tree's, the turbo whistling. & then mikkola, or mouton, or waldegard appears. sideways, flame spitting out of the exhausts.

followed by a strato, a 205t16, a delta s4. the list goes on.

god, how i miss those halcyon days of rallying. we should bring them back. sod the current 2 day 'stroll' around wales. i would love tohe lombard to be brought back to life. mickey mouse, but entertaining, sunday spectator stages & then out into the wilds of the uk. happy days.
