Ultamate F1 driver line up!

Which two drivers(from any era) would make the best driver line up for the best team(choose that too). I'm thinking Hakkinen and Moss at McLaren in the MP4-4. But what do you think?

Being a modern lad n all I will go for Schumacher and Hakkinen in the Ferrari F1-2002. This is the year MS won the title at the French Grand Prix with 6 races to go (I think?). Total dominance from car and driver. Hakkinen is my second driver as IMO he was the 2nd best driver on the grid at that time.

For a leftfield modern choice, how about Mansell & Gilles in the 1986 Williams FW-?

Actually, this bloke has a point. The F1-2002 was an exceptionally outstanding car, one of the most dominant ever designed, that thing *flowed* around the track and suited Schumi perfectly.

So to take our fantasy scenario a little bit leftfield, I wonder what Mossy would have done in it and how Schumi would have fared against him? People are nominating Clark in this thread, a Lotus of various genius and another great driver, but Clark and Lotus worked much like Schumi and Ferrari...the teams were built around them. Both of them neither really allowed someone else to rival them in a team. Now Moss would take anyone as a teammate...and then beat them, in the whole range of machinery available.

So alonside Moss and Fangio in 54/55 in the 196, and Prost/Senna in 88, Id like to add the fantasy pairing of Moss and Schumacher in the F1-2002. Moss was an exceptionally smooth driver, fast as anybody else and mentally hard as nails.

I'd agree, (although Moss was well beaten by Fangio in the 196), but as my point with Clark, my question would be to wonder how Moss would fare with Schumachers totally unethical tactics?

Moss was young when he was partnered with Fangio, but when he was at his peak and when Clark was likewise, neither was troubled by an equally great talent on the track, (although could the same be said of schumacher?) and so we simply don't know how they would have got on.

At least with Senna and Prost we know the answer.
