Has there ever been another competition car that said "dont even think about it, you have to be utterly insane to attempt to drive me with any degree of control" better than a Stratos?

Sandro Munari was a God.


An unbroken competition line of Stratos, 037, S4 Delta. You really have to ask what they were putting in the water over at Lancia during those years

And they found time to make the delicious LC2 in between as well. Before we mention the crazy Group 5 Beta and the the LC1. Where did it all go wrong?

Brabham BT8, I don't believe I've seen one of those.. are there any in the UK?

You will occassionally see them at Goodwood in the Madgwick Cup (when it is run to the correct period). There are two BT5s in existence and if I think long and hard I will remember who they belong to - John Delane has one I believe. They are tremendously elegant little cars which competed in small-capacity sports racing in the mid-1960s to compete with the Elva Mk7/8s and Lotus 23s.

If they've been raced at Goodwood then I've definitely seen one. I think it must be the little kickup spoiler on the back that is making it look like a different car. The rest of the styling is a pretty typical Brabham sportscar of the day.

Yes they invariably find a way to race at Goodwood each year. I dont personally think they are that pretty a car.

I usd to live opposite this place. After nearly hitting me driving an XJ220 in the lane, I got to know the proprietor pretty well & spent a lot of time drooling over their collection....

You were lucky, i've seen this place advertised in magazines - he has some amazing cars.

The period for the Madgwick rotates so you will get the 1960-1966 up to 2L cars about every 3 years. One of the BT5s has the kicked up tail, the other doesn't. If I was at home I'd dig out some photos for you.
