So Button and Hamilton will be the first ever pairing of consecutive and current WDCs. And the first All British Champions driver team since Hill and Clark at Lotus.

So, does this make them the strongest driver line up for ages. I like both of them and will be intrigued as to how both will get on. I wish them both the best and hope the 'games' we saw at McClaren between LH and Alonso are a thing of the past (if you watch the 2007 US GP where Alonso swerves to the pitwall to try and get McClaren to get LH to move over in slow motion, you can just make out a rattle being thrown out of the cockpit).

Anyway, historically, Moss always said that the Tony Brooks/Stuart Lewis Evans line up in the Vanwalls were perhaps the best, but you can't ignore JMF/Moss as well in the Mercedes. In terms of the synergy between team mates I guess you can't beat Collins/Hawthorn, Stewart/Cevert and Brabham/McClaren. Peterson/Andretti springs to mind as well.

Any thoughts?

Irvine/Schumacher
or Barrichello/Schumacher

Both Irvine and Barry agreed in the contract to be seconds, both when Schuey had an off day, or accident where capable of running near the top or on top. Neither took any heat to the No1 while fast enough to keep the heat McLaren's off the back of Schuey.

Irvine getting close the WDC against Hakkinnen was good example of how close a good No2 needs to be while when Schuey was in race he never had to worry on his team mate.

Perceived stronger pairing, Alonso/Hamilton. hmm nuff said, on here especially.
