I hope you're right, but with what has been said about the difficulties in setting up the deal, it could be BRDC saying 'It can't happen because if we agree to it, we'll be broke....' I hope that is not the case though....llewop said:

I hope that is not the case though....If we're to believe / assume that the British GP is one of the so-called 'protected' races in the concorde agreement, then could we find ourselves in a scenario where the BRDC are saying that they couldn't justify the cost of hosting the F1 race because the contractual terms would have sunk them, so they escalated it to the FIA who have stepped in and told Bernie that there *IS* going to be a British GP whether it's on his original terms or not.
Personally, and I'll accept this is probably a delightfully optimistic or naive view, I think it would be good if the one circuit which has managed to consistently be sold our year on year stood up to Bernie and publicly aired the problems of why it's impossible to host a GP on the commercial terms being put forward by CVC, unless you have a backer who's prepared to underwrite the inevitable loss.

Without naming names, contracts have to be draughted, therefore they have been seen by several sets of eyes.

I've heard that they are having to make quite a few changes for the MotoGP next year (starting in a few weeks time), so it would make good business sense to do all the changes as a combined project?Lets hope so, Silverstone having MotoGP & F1
