It seems Abu Dhabi are wanting a calendar change so that they can be the last race.

Their claim is they "deserve it". Why do they get to deserve it more than any other location? I would much rather the title to be decided at the last race and for it to be at Sao Paulo. It would be much more interesting.

Hopefully they get told to bugger off, cheeky fkers.

"Deserve it" for what? Pouring millions and millions into a thinly-disguised marketing campaign and only providing a mediocre race at best?

I'd much rather see it at Sao Paulo.

They arent really thinking about this are they - Lewis and Jenson are going to have the season all sealed up with about 3 or 4 races to go - so if they want the 'decider', they'd better be looking much earlier in the calendar!

At the risk of stating the bleedin' obvious, surely this is just to do with keeping people around after the race in the hope they spend a few more dollars in Abu Dhabi. If there's another race after their one then they won't have the same 'end of term' feeling where people are winding down and wanting to relax in a fancy hotel for a few days. I appreciate that this probably applies less to your average spectator who hasn't travelled to every GP than to the teams, but all the same, I imagine they would be less inclined to hang around if the F1 circus had left town.

Either that, or Bernie has promised them that the championship will definitely be decided at the final race next season

Because it might be nice to finish the season (regardless of whether the championship has been wrapped up or not) with an actual race, as opposed to a rather dull procession ??

Sounds like they are getting desperate. I hope, for their sake and the region (and the less than obvious knock ons)they make a financial go of it.
