Well I don't think he was going to say "I was not very quick to start with and had a stiff neck after x laps". I have no idea whether or not he was quick, merely pointing out he will never say anything other than positive comments.
Anybody know what he lap times were?
Surely he could've said something like "I struggled at first but after a while I was up to race pace.Anybody know what he lap times were?
Lap times will be irrelevant as it will be in a 3 year old car on demonstration tyres.

Don't know much about Mika's crash, was it as serious as Massa's?
Not really. He was in a coma overnight and had a long off-season recovery, but he didn't seem any slower in the 1996 season.Must say when he had his accident I did think that was his career over, but maybe not. Much as I have little time for him, he's come on a lot since Sauber and I'd rather see him retire when he chooses (or has lost his edge) than due to an injury outside of his control.

If we had had HANS device back then he would of probably meant he would of been up and about in a few days.

They know the characteristics of the tyre; they know the car and will have a simulation time for that circuit in those conditions. They will know where Massa is against that target time, and his consistency over multiple laps, and how his heart rate changes, response times and a complete map of his braking zones, G loadings, etc.
So I doubt they are irrelevant. Not comparable to the current years car maybe...
