Quick up date and on lookout for Taz / 350i Engine mounts
Discussion
All the Best to all,
just quick up date on the car, as you know i bought mick GSTAR's class B car we had ideas of running the car as class C but after long discusion iv decided to leave it as V8 and run in class B, the car was only missing engine so its the sensible option and cheapest! so i bought a Rover V8 Developments 4.6 its been tuned and rebuilt and done less than 1000 miles not sure of BHP but we think its about 300 ish, still needing some daft odds and sods such as taz/350 engine mounts and brackets & spare injectors, so if anyone has any laying around would buy them off you? got spare sump to get baffled, looking at it being ready for end Jan for first testing mid Feb? Pete and Daves car is coming on well engine out and some major body repairs and upgrading is on cards for coming weeks, Im pleased my car only needs a freshen up of paint and the engine back in it and couple small jobs to sort it.
So its looking like CTS Racing to have cars in class A,B & C this year
Cheers guys take care

Cool, it will be great to see the g-string special back out where it belongs with a V8 under the hood. Im planning on doing most of the rounds this year :-) starting with the Tuscan
When the Sags ready I'll run the Tuscan as a class B hire car if anyone wants to play as well :-)

Hi Graham - how's the Sag coming along? When you reckon it'll be ready for?
Richard, the plan is to have a class A engine fitted for dad's return once all fit and well again! Got a couple of ideas at the moment so will see what happens later on this year!
As Ron says, ours is coming along nicely. Some chassis work to be done while motor out, body work to repair etc then paint and bolt back together ready for Cadwell! Ron's should be done a lot sooner - just need those egine mounts!!
All the best to everyone for 2010, Dave

The Taz uses Rover SD1 mounts that are cut and re-welded to adjust the position (well the 400SE ones are, so you could do the same (I did on mine), rimmer brothers I think do them, the rubber mounts are standard SD1's but a guy near me does uprated ones.
do you need the injectors or just want a spare set. as I carry a spare set of everything.
What ECU you going to run. or you saying standard with dissy.
It also maybe worth getting an old 3.5 block as they are very cheap, with no heads or insides, you can then use this to work out the best way to mount it. as it will be easier too position and move about, than a complete engine.
This is what I did to get a RV8 to fit in a S1 2.8 chassis.
It's also sitting further back. I changed the gearbox mount to a removable cross link also. need to make another one though to fit the T5 gearbox.
