I doubt too many are surprised, to be honest. The legality of the sanction was always doubtful. I expect the sanctions on Pat will be lifted early to, as they were with Stepney.This however does not mean that we will see Flavio walking around the F1 pits.

Yeah, word is this ruling affects his football dealings, so it may be they both accept a stalemate. If they've got any sense...This however does not mean that we will see Flavio walking around the F1 pits.
No surprise at all...which also means you have to wonder whether Mclaren should contest their $100m fine?!?
Once again though, this 'sport' is more about the politics and personalities off the track than the racing on it...and until that changes I'll never go to an F1 race. WRC, BT/WTCC, British GT, FIA GT, Britcar, Moto GP and pretty much everything else in-between, but not F1.

I think if you look back at the threads when the lifetime ban was imposed, most of us on here said it would be overturned. The only ones who didn't were those who probably thought it was so patently obvious that it wasn't worth commenting on.
Much as I dislike Briatore I've got to say it seems the right decision. Especially the compensation. Makes you wonder how many other Mosley decisions would have been over turned if challenged.
His case was tha the FIA’s judgment was “a legal absurdity” and used as “a tool to exact vengeance on one man” as well as a “manifest excess and abuse of power”. He's won 1500 Euro. I would assume the money means little but the award is great.
The only think that went through my mind was that the whole process seemed so obviously inept with poor procedure that it was almost as if they wanted Briatore to get away with it. Whatever 'it' was of course and nothing has been proved.

There are as many incidents, appeals, scandals and punishments at the average karting event. However you don't see those reported in the tabloids because they're not interesting to the public. If you clicked on any link to read about this case, upto and including the title of this thread, you're only helping support the reasonably-valid notion that these things are of interest to the public and should still be reported widely.

If flav is to believed to be innocent he's "owed" a lot more than £15k. Maybe the £15k was the french courts way of saying "yeah okay flav, the procedure was flawed therefore technically invalid but you might not want to push this."Much as I dislike Briatore I've got to say it seems the right decision.
