You could see that Fulvio was on a "Sunday Afternoon Drive", he wasn't working very hard, not even 5/10ths!
I remember doing my bit for the British Heart Foundation at Snetterton back in the '90s
After doing my de-rigour laps for the marshals, my first "punter" was bundled into the car in the hissing rain. As I rolled away from the pits, he asks "What are we in, I didn't see as it was raining so much" and I replay "Nova GSi Super Road Saloon thingy mate". He says "oh, right" (disappointed). Before we have left the pit lane, I've had to move up to 5th gear to stop the wheel spin. By this time his face has changed. We pass Whizzo Williams in a Porsche who was having all sorts of grief trying to put the power down. As we go into Coram the back end steps out due to the amount of lakes on the track, I floor it and pull it back straight. He speaks again....."Blimey, you've been doing this for a while mate", I reply calmly "Nope, never driven this thing before today". His knuckles whitened, his complexion faded, and one further lap later as he got out of the seat, he shook my hand and said "well I really enjoyed that mate, I didn't think I would, but it was great".
I only took one other person out that day as the hospitality tent took off and started heading towards Suffolk. They threw the red flag, and that was the end of it.
I wish I had a camera in the car for that guy, his facial expressions were priceless, though the picture of the guy in Fulvio's passenger seat was probably better!
Another car I would have loved to have a camera in was the SCSA/ASCAR two seater when a certain celebrity driver had a passenger ride as part of his Rookie Training for that series. He looked like a startled rabbit after the ride, and failed to turn up for the second day of training!
