We can argue and hypothesise forever about who is the fastest or most likely to beat the other, but who do you support the most? Which one, even subconsciously, will you be cheering on come Bahrain?

Gotta go with Hamilton for this, never really took much notice of the F1 until he came into it.

Close call for me , Hamilton if I really had to pick , but if either or both do well next season I'll be pleased.

Button as he's a local chap and a friend of a friend plus seems somewhat less clinical than Hamilton.

As a person, Jenson seems a lot more 'likable'. I also prefer his style.
The emotion of his first win, and the well-earned World Championship after so many years in an uncompetitive car makes him seem the more deserving driver, even if Lewis has more skill.

Well this is a tough one. Lewis just edges it for me. But i'm supporting both of them. Very similar to the fact that i support McLaren but also like to see Williams do well. Lewis' driving style is completely different. I love watching his 'hang the arse end out' style of driving. They are two completely different drivers. Just hope to see some McLaren one twos this season.

LOL!

I'm a fan of pistachios.

Tourrettes FTW.

I voted neither for the record.

Neither here nor there with them to be honest. Just want to see a good race and let the best combination of team, driver and car win.

^ yeah, that.

But, the nasty OP used the word "subconsciously".

And, for that reason only, I voted Jensen.

It's an odd situation for me. Throughout F1 supporting the best British driver - the guy with the best chance of winning the WDC - has been easy as there's only ever been one guy in the position to do so. But now we have two! smile

I voted Hamilton though, as really I was a Hamilton supporter first. Given we only really had DC and JB to support, neither really of the absolute right mettle, I'd been following Hamilton for years prior to F1, watching him make it up through the ranks. LH is the best of the two lets face it. JB is the sounder chap, but that's irrelevant when it comes to patriotism.

I voted for Button because he seems to have more of a natural aura around him. Hamilton seems slightly too robotic for my liking whereas Jenson is like Barrichello and Webber; he goes mental when he wins!

Tough call, I nearly went for 'both equally'. Then asked myself, who I would (a)like to go for a drink with or (b)be.... answer:Jenson

I probably prefer Hamilton 'the driver', but that wasn't the question.... smile

Depends how close it is, steward decisions, reliability, favouritism, general luck - any number of things that give people a reason to argue their point!

What I meant is that the thread/poll wasn't related to debates on their ability.

One of the organisers of the Festival of Speed said to me that Lewis had impeccable manners and had time for everybody and understood what was needed of him, whereas Jenson was rather rude, slightly arrogant and really rather difficult. I much prefer Hamilton's style and am have been an admirer of his since he was in karts. Therefore I voted Lewis.

Hamiltons a cock sure arrogant arse, who isn't as good as he thinks he is. Button is technicaly a better driver but is prone to bouts of dummy spitting if the car isn't absolutely top drawer. I think they'll spend all year taking points off each other no matter how good or bad this years Mclaren is.

Hamilton for me but i like both. IMO Hamilton has made me watch F1 on the edge of my seat, he's exciting even when at the back of the grid. Where as Jenson isn't really that exciting in my books. I've met both at Goodwood, Hamilton stopped for ages, signed, talked and had photos taken with as many people he could. Jenson just pushed past into the buggy. So Hamilton for me.

ETA: IIRC, nearly everyone was a Hamilton fan in his 1st and 2nd season. Now there is a lot more Button fans, obviously not because he has just one a Championship or something scratchchinhehe

I voted for Button. Obviously having never met either I only have what I have seen on TV to go by, but if I had the choice of who to go for a pint with then it'd be him so thats who I will be supporting. I guess I also have a bit of a tendency to support the underdog, and in almost everyones opinion (including mine) this is Jenson. Still I like watching both and hope one of them wins the WDC this year.
