Not exactly on par. Button had a lucky break with Brawn. Heidfeld never got a lucky break. Furthermore, I think Button's contractual disputes were self-induced, rather than the result of bad management per se.

Jensen was badly advised when it came down to writing an autobiography way too soon, and signing a long term contract without any break clauses. He was used rather than badly advised but now at McLaren will be under a tight leash and with little chance to 'flog himself about'.

It is a shame but too many motorsport people are managed by chancers, family friends, school friends etc....most of whom see £££ or $$$ signs without any understanding of the contractual issues involved and the IP / image rights. You do need professional advice from the outset and professional management at every stage.

Well, he's still working for a (hopefully) top-flight F1 team, has a job which will give him more time with his young family, and if Rosberg cocks up this year he'll have first dibs on a factory drive in 2011.

Obviously it's not the job he deserves, but it could be a lot worse.
