All I can say now is what a load of f'in rubbish, theres just no need for it at all! It just seems like a knee jerk reaction to one season of dominance from a team which isnt even there now. Hopefully they will realise what a mistake it is and at least go back to normal in 2011.

Your link doesn't work any more, try this one

The format is the same as used in Nascar, they call it the "Chase" rather than showdown, and the top 12 drivers go through rather than 5. I agree though, its a stupid kneejerk reaction to something that won't happen very often.

Just stop this. Stop this piss arsing around with the rules to make a series "more competitive".

What I want to see is more "competition" between manufacturers and riders. What I want to see is a season-long shootout between V-twins / in-line fours / triples / rotaries / 2T's, with riders from varying backgrounds.

So they plan on bulding their viewing figures by making the finish so complex that no new viewer is likely to be able to stomach the confusion?

Nice move.

I reckon JP has fked it this time. People are going to look at that, not understand it then not bother with BSB again.

What a cock.

If it's the most popular National racing series, why try and fk it up?

The only positive comment I have read about this rule change was in MCN. It was written by their BSB reporter who is clearly in someone's back pocket. His view is that only racing fans with closed minds will see this as a bad thing. It's good to see MCN in touch with the masses as usual.

Probably worried about his 2010 press pass. I wonder who will issue them for an MSV run series?

Wont this mean that raves 8 and 9 will be pointless for the top runners.
If you have already qualified for the final showdown by race 6 or 7 your not going to need to race again until the showdown starts.

What an absolute load of stark raving bks. Someone actually listened to the bloke that proposed this and didn't send him back to the asylum in his nice shiny jacket?

Out of interest what's the problem(s) with him? Not being involved in the industry I'd imagined he'd be well thought of, so maybe I'm way off the truth!

I agree, why do they have to keep changing the rules to try and 'Fix' the racing.

Surely if the rules were left alone everyone would have chance to catch up and take full advantage of the rules that are in place!?

I thought it was only F1 that was constantly meddling with the rule book to try and contrive competition!? rage
