FIA GT World Championships

The GT Ford of Matech and their customer team have both been awarded Le Mans 2010 starts....and both cars should put in a serious showing. The FIA GT World Championship should make for some great racing too, with two one hour races over two days, driver changes and a great global calendar. SRO the organisers will be putting up more infomation over the next two weeks but there are some top teams such as Nissan, Maserati, Aston Martin and Lamborghini all entering two cars!

When will the GT1 be shown on TV and what channel?

I watched the qualifying yesterday and race 1 earlier today, unfortunately i only caught the last 25min of the championship race this afternoon but i still enjoyed it. I watched it on TV but it does stream live and with commentary from http://www.gt1world.com/gt1tv
I think it was brilliant, everyone was giving it all and there was some great racing. It's so cool watching Ford GTs duke it out with Maserati MC12s and Nissan GTRs. A wonderful mix of exotic machinery and the new format of two 1hour races makes it so much more TV friendly than the previous set up which means better TV coverage. I was also very pleasantly surprised to see that the race actually streams live from that website as well so you dont even need TV.
Basically they've made a fan out of me. I cant wait to watch the coming races. Next one is on the 2nd of May at Silverstone!

One half of one of the driver pairings currently has a broken leg following a big crash during practice before last weekends races.I watched it live and really enjoyed it. Some good racing. Also annoyed that the race result was almost completely changed after the race (and the trophy presentation!) but whatever.
I was also pleasantly surprised with the GT3 race at Silverstone an hour or so before the GT1 main event, there was some tight racing there as well. I didnt catch it live on Motors TV but i watched the replay on their website here http://gt3europe.com/liveGT3.php i think you can also watch it live there but i'm not sure.

Of course he didnt stay the winner for long but still...

Imagine my delight when I found it was a test day for a whole bunch of GT machinery - some FIA GT1s (both Nissan GTR teams, Marc VDS Ford GT, Mad Croc Corvette) & GT3s (Porsche, Ferrari, Alpina) plus a couple of the BMW M3 GT2s. Eau Rouge is just amazing...
Some of them were wearing numbers from a different series though - wonder if this would have been a test/practice day for the Spa 24h ?
