Im thinking of taking a trip with my old dad to a race meeting somewhere.

Nothing mentally expensive, but anything that involves a weekend a way, a bit of a road trip, drinking and racing...

Either cars or bikes, not Le Man as we are going to that anyway...

Thanks

Rich

What about the Goodwood Revival or Silverstone classic?

lots of different classes to keep you interested for the whole weekend.

or if you want to head abroad there's some good events at Spa which can be driven to easily from Calais

Seconded:

Lots of things on throughout the year, a lot of which is free to enter, and if you havent been - you NEED to see Eau Rouge in the flesh!

Added bonus of having around 800 belgian beers to choose from thumbup

I was thinking Spa could be a good choice, I went to the GP last year and would like to take my dad there.

I know the 1000km is there but what else??

Fun Cup 25 Hour race weekend 9-11th July is fantastic fun. 160+ cars on track and full support programme as well from Belcar GT and Megane's/Clio's.

I went to the DTM at Zandvoort a couple of years ago and it was a great experience. good atmosphere with loads of decent support races and pretty cheap for a 3 day pass with paddock access and grandstand seat. its also just up the road from the hook of holland port which makes it easy to access from the uk. one to consider maybe.....

I think the spa 1000km could be favourite at the moment, would be good as a lead upto Le Man.

Does anybody have any recommendations for hotel/camping for this event? preferably in walking distance of the track.

Thanks

The ONLY trip to do in 2010 is the Monaco Historic GP....1-2 May 2010. All of the glamour of the Grand Prix, none of the attitude. Way more sophisticated, much cheaper and the people are so much more genuine.

Good, food, great hotels, easy to fly down and back not silly money and the cars / racing is just fantastic. Open pits too!
