Barcelona test 2010

Off down to Barcelona next week for the final test sessions. Weather forecast doesn't look too bad. Will this be a test session when the teams really get serious or will there still be 'sandbagging' going on.

PS anyone recommend a good tapas restaurant in Barcelona - never been there before

I see Lewis and Schumacher are out on the track Friday and Sunday for the Barcelona testing also with Alonso on the Friday

Get to Les ramblas and fill your boots, watch out for ordering a beer in some places as they are huge and cost 17 ish euros Gulp

Watch out for the ladies of the night as well, entertaining, but gets a little tiresome. Totally fab city. Enjoy
but watch your gear.

Agreed, great around Las Ramblas. Watch out for pickpockets too though!

Passeig del Born is the place for you - and yes, watch out for pickpockets!

There's a bar on the Carrer de l'Esparteria with a trapeze hanging from the roof.. It is NOT, I repeat NOT for the use of your larger-than-average scottish tourist visiting for the MotoGP!

The best tapas I have ever eaten were at the Centro Cultural Euskal Etxea at Plaçeta Montcada 1, just across from there is an amazing cava bar called Xampaynet.

Another tip is to buy a tube ticket think it costs around 7 euros and gives you seven rides anywhere within the city.

Dont know how long your going for but a trip to the olympic village is awesome a little cafe sits on the edge of the hill and gives wonderful views of the city.

Flying out early Thursday returning Sunday.
Going to the circuit Friday possibly Saturday. May take advantage of this at the circuit too

Go to the cathedrals too if you have time, some of the old parts of Barcelona are quite nice, but as has been said, watch out for any belongings not buttoned into pockets - I would take one of those small bags that goes around your waist, it's a dodgy place.

That sounds pretty cool. Was in Jerez week before last.

Cerveceria Catalana (on Carrer de Malloca - quite central) is very good - a bit too popular maybe, but for good reason!

For eating in general, the restaurants on Enric de Grandos (about 15 minutes walk from the centre) are very good and a little less touristy (I nicked the recommendation from someone on PH a while back !)
