I cant really answer the question directly, but a mate of mine did the 'tour' thing for the Spa GP a few years back and he wound up being in a hotel in Brussels, which is fine in itself so you can sample some nightlife too - But it does make it a very long journey there and back to the circuit each day (approx 3 hours each way I'd guess on a coach). If I were you, I'd just throw a tent in your car and drive. A quick search on the net will give you a number of little campsites nearby, and they will normally run a 'shuttle taxi' service that you can pre-book if you dont fancy a longish walk each day.
What I would say though, is that the Spa circuit (if you havent experienced it) is worth the inconvenience of the trip and sleeping under canvas for a couple of days!!! Wear good shoes for walking though, and be prepared for some shockingly steep paths to get round the circuit!
(Oh, and bring sun cream and a GOOD rain coat - it can go either way and often does!)
