Ian Phillips is leaving Force India

Force India has announced that director of business affairs Ian Phillips will leave the team after 19 years with the Silverstone-based squad.
Phillips has been responsible for sponsorship acquisition as well as negotiations with the FIA and FOM, and the signing of over 50 drivers since he joined the team when it was known as Jordan.
He was also AUTOSPORT's youngest editor in 1973.
"The team would like to wish Ian every success in his future endeavours," said Force India in a statement.
Lined up for more BBC work perhaps? At Spa last season he made a statement (i think on 5 live) that Fisichella would be a Ferrari driver for the next race which the team then denied and made a statement to the effect that the comments should be ignored as Ian Phillips wasn't an official spokesperson for the team. Perhaps not entirely unrelated....

Hopefully he will still do the fridays at least. He was genius last year. Lots of stories told that he probably shouldn't have.Was a fan of Jordan for many years while Ian would have been there, from what I know of the man plenty of deals wouldn't have been done without him and he therefore contributed to much of Jordans success and so increased my joy as a racing fan.
