Motor Sport mag Question

In the current issue of Motor Sport who is the Author(Anthony Rowlinson) referring to on page 67 when he says "it's all as latin and virgil and a long way removed from the crushing noughties, when a Brit, a Frog, a South African, a German and other nationalities made Ferrari a winning Automation.
I imagine the Brit would be Brawn, the frog Todt, the German Schumacher, so who is the South African? I hope he isn't referring to Chris Dyer as he is Australian!
Maybe MS Scribes are rubbish with accents i noticed in the Franchitti piece elsewhere in the issue Scott Dixon, a kiwi, was called Scottish.
