So, who's disappointed after the first race?

Anyone think that bar the first lap (and the odd overtake in the pits), yesterday's race was as dull as dishwater? 
The most eagerly anticipated season ever and it produced that procession for the first race?! What a load of rubbish!
It's clearly serious as many of the drivers and team principles are already saying that something needs to be done to fix the situation straight away! I hope they do!!

the tv coverage didnt help, the early battle between lotus and virgin was one of the highlights, yet they only showed it for a couple of corners.
if there is racing / overtaking happening at the lower end of the field why dont they concentrate on that ?
also there was no real coverage of kubica coming hrough he field after his early spin .

Utter dross.

The rule changes have turned it into a race of strategy not skill. The trouble with that is because of no refuelling, everyone is on the same strategy.
What could have been a fantastic season is probably going to be one of the most boring. Not a good way to bring in more sponsors and audience!

I knew it was going to be a bit of a snorefest as Bahrain normally is, though I was hoping the new track layout would help combat that. I do think they need to bring in a mandatory 2 pit stops thing or something of that equivolent just to keep things interesting, as it's at real risk of just being 40 laps of them nursing their tyres before going flat out to the finish.
I certainly don't think it sets precedent for the rest of the season, as with the limited amount of testing and so on they've been apprehensive about tyre wear and so on. I think now we know the tyres are actually holding up pretty well (from what I understood anyway) they'll start pushing a bit harder.

I think the track itself is so dull to watch anyway and lap is far too long now. Obviously the drivers are starting off far too cautious but I think once they get into the new set up things will get better.
Have to say the coverage and lack of on screen information across the whole weekend really did not help at all. The local director needed a kick up the backside IMO.

I hope you are right because that was a major disappointment given all the pre-season build up. I can't think of one exciting part of the race at all, and if there was, it wasn't shown. I'm not sure how to turn it around, I suspect if they removed a lot of the shackles then the racing would become exciting again, but then budgets would spiral. Tough one, but I'm not sure I'll be interested in following the season with regularity if the spectacle doesn't improve over the next 2 or 3 races.

Some things to look forward to that would change the outcome: more reliable Red Bull, McLaren making improvements, Alonso not making a mistake in qualifying. Cooler weather for the Ferraris. A closer battle between Rosberg and Schumacher. Teams and drivers sussing out tyres and strategy. Street circuits, traditional circuits and rain. They wont all be like this.

I am sure that things will 'hot' up in WTCC. Not so sure with F1 though. Agree with others that the first F1 race was pretty dull. Slightly disappointed, but I think the teams and drivers were being overly conservative for this first race. Hopefully, they will be willing to take more risks as they gather more experience with tyres and fuel consumption.
Having said that, something REALLY must be done to enable more overtaking. New tyre compound rules (or just let the teams use whatever compound they want), mandatory pitstops, ban wings, whatever.
