new manager, he is always standing next to him at interviews!

What happened to his dad, did him and Lewis fall out?

He's 25 and his dad was following him EVERYWHERE. It was well creepy. Apparently he's now offering F1 experience drives for up and coming drivers.

I noticed Bishop was watching what Lewis said all weekend. Didn't see him on any of Buttons interviews...

Personally I wouldn't want my dad as my manager - I'd rather he was there to support and advise me regardless of any business or commercial considerations. The Buttons appear to have what I'd call a "normal" father-son relationship, the Hamiltons appeared to have what I'd call a strange f-s relationship. I say "appear" because I don't know any of them personally.

I thought he was still at Autosport...

I think he's been at McLaren for a few years now. Good bloke.

It's the matronly blonde always around Vitaly Petrov who's scary, I think it's his mother. And you think having your father around was bad.

Hamilton snr. managed Lewis from a boy, so I don't really see continuing for the first couple of seasons into F1 as that strange. He obviously did an OK job considering Lewis ended up as world champion. Lewis said when his dad stopped being his manager it was to have a more normal relationship, which I also don't see as strange and is probably a good decision.

So what you're saying is that Lewis himself agrees with my impressions - he wants a more normal relationship with his dad (implying the relationship was abnormal when his dad was his manager), so his dad stopped being his manager. Good.
thumbup

At no point did I say Hamilton Snr did a bad job.

Ha ha most certainly. She was all over him (in the motherly sense of course!) during his pre race with Brundle and DC. It grated on me in GP2, now he's in F1 I think she seriously needs to back off!

There was a video on Youtube of a race where Petrov retired with an engine failure, maybe an F3 race. His mother was on the pit wall, when she realised the car had stopped she kicked off and started slapping the arm of the engineer sitting next to her.

She seems to be the only person on the grid scarier looking than Petrov himself.

Makes you wonder how many people have been "eliminated" on his way to an F1 drive.
