How Long for Schuey?

Am I the only one in thinking that that nice Mr.S is beginning to wonder if returning to F1 after a few years off, was such a great idea. Great as he was (and I have to admit to never being a fan of his, but can't deny his considerable previous ability) new generation of F1 pilots are no respecters of a reputation, and to see him mixing it with the tail enders makes me wonder how long he'll accept just being one of the boys. As for him having words with Alonso etc. after practice about driving standards just shows what a short memory he has, after some of the apalling stunts which he's pulled in his time.

He finishes 6th in his fiorst race for over 3 years, 4 seconds behind his supposedly hot shoe team mate. At the next race he finishes 50seconds behind him after being clattered out and having to make an extra stop.
Yet some mean mouthed amateurs are writing him off? Wishful thinking methinks.

I'd say the opposite; whoever's idea it was to hire Schumacher will be on for a sizeable bonus, irrespective of Michael's performance. I reckon Mercedes must have received 30M Euros worth of global advertising from their investment in Schumi already. Just think of the international press exposure that MS's comeback has generated; prime-time news slots, front page headlines, back page exposure, etc, etc. And when his car's fully on the pace, I'm sure we'll see the the Schumacher of old again.Speaking of exposure, I wonder if Lewis will get a thankyou cheque from Stuttgart for bringing the AMG C63 to the attention of the worlds media?

He looked very relaxed with regards to his performance, and seemed to be genuinely enjoying himself. Certainly didn't look like someone on the verge of quitting.
4th fastest lap, in what may well have been a damaged car certainly isn't bad.
Whatever you think about Schumacher, he's certainly no mug, to think he assumed he would come back and be finishing on the podium/ winning every race from the start of the season, is pretty naive.

Remember Mansell in season 1992. For the first approx. 4-5 races he was abnormally slower than companion Patrese, and suddenly something changed in his head, Patrese was nowhere, him dominating the races.
Schumacher is OK for a moment, but is expected to improve. Mercedes GP is too slow too.

Why would he regret it?I only just realized this yesterday when I watched the Melbourne race again - but Schumacher had a fantastic start right up to the first corner when he pulled up side by side with Alonso and Button. At that point, he was even in front of Rosberg. Unfortunately, the turn by Alonso's car damaged his front-wing which put him right at the end of the grid. If that hadn't happened, I wouldn't be surprised to have seen him finish in front of Rosberg for a change.
I don't think he'll quit, or be pushed, I certainly hope that doesn't happen anyway. Unfortunately his legendary status was always going to mean alot of expectation followed him. He hasn't even shown a glimmer of what he was capable of yet, which is unfortunate, but that doesn't mean it won't come back.
