Being that these work rather well in NASCAR could we see them in F1? That double file restart is always exciting and the G-W-C restart/finish always gurantees a fair bit of racing in its own right!

Thoughts/bile?

It could work, definitely spices up the racing in the Sprint Cup, but I'd prefer the BTCC method of adding on the number of laps that have been done under the safety car to the total, although it would screw with the team's fuel strategies.

Would only rarely be applicable.
In NASCAR, yellow flag=safety car, and there are a lot of yellow flags. In F1, however, maybe one yellow in 10 is a SC. There was a SC finish in Australian GP last year, but they are quite uncommon.

It would be difficult to implement in F1 now because they can't refuel. It may work in specific circumstances if there were several laps of yellow flag beforehand with perhaps only one lap being added to the race distance so drivers were able to save enough fuel to finish, but equally you could envisage a scenario where there's perhaps an accident 2 laps from the end which needs 4 or 5 laps to clean up the accident meaning cars would barely have enough fuel left to complete the 4 yellow laps, let alone finish the race with two further laps at full speed.

There was at Monza too which I think caused he amount of safety car finishes to treble in one year! I would myself like to see it but as you said they'd end up running quite tight with fuel. Do think double-file restarts would be a nice feature though because then you'd be able to see decent racing!
