Two things from Monaco.
Firstly how come Alonso was allowed to start the race even though he did not complete a single qualifying lap? Back in the days of proper F1 racing, not the procession that we have to put up with these days, the rules were simple - if you didnt at least set a qualifying time you were classed as 'DNQ' & you didnt get to racE.
Alonso didnt complete a single lap in qualifying so why was he allowed to start the race, even though it was from the pit lane?
Secondly how come Schumacher lost the position that he took ofF Alonso at the last corner?
this point i should make it quite clear that i dislike Schumacher immensely & i have no time at all for him.
However one this one occasion i think he was hard done by. Did anyone else notice that Alonso was hard on the power as Schumacher went past him & that he was extremely lucky not to stick his Ferrari into the wall?
If he thought that the race was finishing under the safety car - which it quite clearly wasnt - why was he so hard on the throttle?
He knew that Schumacher was threatening his position hence his decision to floor the throttle.
As usual the Ferrai team do not like getting turned over which clearly happened to them yesterday.
If it had been anyone else that took the place from Alonso would they have made such a big song & dance about it?
I very much doubt it.
I think that it was a case of sour grapes. Simple. & that is from an F1 fan who simply does not like Schumacher in any way, shape or form.

The DNQ harks back to a time when more cars wanted to race than could actually fit on the track safely. No such worries nowadays.
As for Schummy's move on Alonso - been covered on other threads but comes down to interpretation of the rules which state - in broad terms - if the last lap of the race is run under an SC, then the whole lap is deemed to be a SC lap - even if it peels into the pits before the finish line.
