Another VW/Audi F1 story
Discussion
Must be 6 months since the last Porsche/Audi/VW to F1 story so here's another one. Easy way to get free publicity

If VAG ever do decide to do an engine for F1, the new engine change would be their best time to do it as every supplier will be starting from scratch.
Like you said though, it is free publicity for them because the media is desperate for a quote. I think the only manufacturers not mentioned in that article, that are in the VW Audi Group, were Lamborghini and Bugatti.

Seems a strange way to go when they have already put so much into the diesel R10/15s - struggle to believe that they would get into F1 as well.
Saying that, a real alternative to the Merc/Renault/Ferrari engines in F1 at the mo wouldn't be a bad thing.
It also depends how the future ACO regulations for diesels go. They may not have the advantage they enjoy now.Saying that, a real alternative to the Merc/Renault/Ferrari engines in F1 at the mo wouldn't be a bad thing.

They didn't have an advantage when they ran petrol R8s for six years, they still dominated.I don't think F1 is anywhere near VW/Audi's radar, doesn't harm the PR machine to talk about it though.
