Naptown is starting to rock as pole day approaches. We enjoyed a few good hours of practice today with almost everyone out on the track, including all the big names, before the rain came back. Wheldon seemed to be having issues all day but posted a best lap ave in the 226's. Plenty of laps for the other Brits, Franchitti and Wilson too. Nice to see Takuma Sato performing well, and his car was the best looking IMO in the Lotus livery. Danica well off the pace, watched her from turn 2 later on and she just didn't seem to be on it at all. Forecast for the weekend is Hot - 88 degrees on Sunday! Looking forward to Saturday.

Watching the track feed now - Castroneves just about to go on track. Also be interesting to see how Simona de Silvestro goes, as the whole Danica love-in has become very, very tedious.

Difficult to knock Danica. She is genuinely quick and ultra competitive. It's a bonus that she's also very attractive but that should not detract from her talent. She's a genuine contender as demonstrated by her results. She qualified 4th in her rookie year and finished in the same spot having led the race. She's had 3 other top ten finishes including 3rd last year. She's also been good for the sport.

As a resident of Naptown I would do it for the pass and the huge fee and save the airfare.

I'd tend to disagree to be honest. She's turned the whole thing into a circus which detracts from other drivers. I'd also question her being "genuinely quick and ultra competitive", as I don't think she's shown that in races. She can keep out of trouble and score points, but she's seldom challenged for wins and she's been dismal on road courses. Add to that the questions over her setup ability (see yesterday's strop) and De Silvestro outperforming her and I think the shine is starting to wear off. I can't help but think as the series has recovered and become stronger, she's starting to get found out a little bit. I just don't get why so many folks think she's the best thing since sliced bread, as she's been pretty average really. Not bad, but not especially good either. I'd much rather see the likes of De Silvestro, Ana Beatriz and Sarah Fisher in the sport as drivers (and indeed owners) than Danica flouncing around the place doing her "look at me!" thing, sorry.

Kanaan crashed, Tracy withdrew his time to have another attempt to try and go quicker but went slower.

Wheldon hasn't been running so well this month but he's qualified 18th so who knows. Maybe a Brit 1,2,3?? That would please my Hoosier friends.
