Me neither, he's a (relatively) fresh new face in F1, seems to have a good rapport with all the teams, which is important. Who cares about the iPad, I noticed it at Monaco too, where he was getting Twitter updates, which let's face it, many of the teams and drivers seem to use, regardless of whether you or I do, so it's a useful tool to have at his disposal, and he can choose what he says, which is how a presenter should work....at least its not an armful of pikey jewelry! He seems down to earth and generally just a nice chap, shame he supports Norwich City.
I wouldn't moan about him tbh. He does a pretty good job and has a genuine interest in it. Leagues better than Steve Ride-her anyway!

t.hes ok. Entertaining, infinitely less irratating/comedic than EJ, less formal than Steve Rider and isnt monotone, badly informed and Vampiric-looking like Jim Rosenthal!

Still not convinced myself, but can see how it's a handy tool in that situation.to be fair, anchor man for the BBC should carry some weight with the english teams at least. I think the teams generally think he shows them in agood light, so why not extend him some respect/access. As for being familiar, hes seems a hands on sort of guy so probably socialises with DC and some of the teams personnel, which i doubt Jim Rosenthal or Steve Rider did.
off topic, but its interesting to watch a GP from say 5-10 years ago, the 'atmosphere' in the pitlane, especially between Ron Dennis and Todt/Monezemulo (sp) is war-like, whereas the friendlier rivalry between whitmarsh and Domenicali does seem much nicer, and a better image to Joe Public, makes F1 look more like sport than global warfare lol
