Free Britcar 24 tickets - parking charge

At the Autosport show I filled in an application for free tickets for the Silverstone weekend. Today have got an email saying;
"Applications for the free weekend tickets for the Britcar 24hrs have been so strong that Silverstone have become concerned about the available space for car parking. They have asked that the parking passes for the tickets are pre booked as they do not want to run out of space on the day and have to turn people away who have entry tickets if there are no parking spaces left."
This is clearly complete b
ks as they would know how many parking spaces they require from the number of tickets they send out! They want a payment of 6 quid for a car park pass. Still cheap obviously if gives entry, but feels like a con even if legit, and I don't remember how many tickets the deal was for - if it was for only one, with full price on the second then this is less like a good deal.

3: Silverstone only have a limited number of parking available, they are unable to simply send hundreds of thousands of tickets out in case everyone turns up as they would have to turn most of them away hence they requested that all parking passes were purchased in advance so they can get an idea of the numbers coming. It is the number of parking spaces which limits capacity at Silverstone not the number of seats/space at the circuit, as noted in the t's and c's for the offer.
Assuming you have requested 5 tickets as per my example above that still means each person is paying only £1.20 for a 3 day ticket to Silverstone to watch a range of motorsport plus the only 24hr GT race on home soil. No it's not a perfect system but not everything in life is free, regardless of what the internet teaches people with illegal downloads and the like. Everything that is in your email you received was written on the leaflet you filled in at the show.

7 people with 7 tickets could turn up in 1 Espace or in 7 Range Rovers.ks as they would know how many parking spaces they require from the number of tickets they send out! But fair enough, they might not know how many people with free tickets might turn up, and it's not a scam.
I've seen the free ticket offer, but I really want to get into the infield as I'm planning on staying / camping for the full 3 days and would like to have all of my stuff stuff around me. If this would be the case then 6 quid for a weekends motorsport spectating sounds like great value!!
Having been at the 24hr on a team pass(!) before, I've been able to park and move the car around whereever I like, so I'm not sure how I can acheive the same as a paying punter without it costing a fortune?
Can anyone tell me whether this offer is just for general admission / parking in the main car park, or if I can get into the "inner sanctum"!?

This will get you regular admission with grandstand seating and access to the main exterior car parks. There will be camping being provided by Area24 (White Rabbit Racing) next to the start finish line and this will be launched soon. You can use the tickets from this offer in conjunction with the camping which will allow you to get your car into the circuit boundry, the only extra needing to be paid for being your camping pitch (car pass for camping is the same as the car pass for the outer carpark, you can simply swap them upon booking your pitch).

Booking via http://www.britcar24hr.co.uk/tickets/ you automaticly get an entry pass and a carparking ticket. I've just booked onto your premium campsite and was wondering if there is any way of getting an entry ticket without taking up a carpark space, so that more people get a chance to get free britcar tickets?
In the small print it says that "The number of free tickets available is based on the number of parking spaces at Silverstone allocated for this offer and assumes all vehicles are full of spectators. Once the total number of car spaces is filled the ticket offer will be exhausted".
When you book your camping you will get a car pass which will be swapped for the general parking pass on the ticket offer on the website. You will only need to pay for the parking once, whether you do it through Guy or through the Britcar offer and we will ensure you get the appropriate pass sent to you.

It's on the old GP track (Bridge Circuit) as we need to use the old National Straight (Wellington Straight) as the assembly area as it's the only place large enough to potentially grid up 80 cars. Hopefully when the new pits are finished there will be a larger area near there where we can assemble the cars so we can hopefully use the new circuit next year.

Are there still free tickets available for this? As on the Silverstone website it is showing £17 per ticket now.
Also just to clear things up, if I book a camping pass through WhiteRabbit and also book tickets through the Britcar site, the parking ticket will automatically be changed to a camping parking ticket?

That is correct, the car park pass is swapped for the camping car pass.
