Please note: I've included Pete Reeve in this points table, though I'm not sure if he's registered for points. If anyone knows otherwise, please tell me and I'll ammend the table without him.


Oh and please ignore the 'best track' bit, its just something I'm working on and isn't really working correctly at the moment.

Nick: what do you mean by "if Pete Reeve is registered for points"? How is a driver registered for points?

A couple of years ago we had a couple of drivers run in the series for only one race, having not registered for the series. In this case they were not eligable for points and it caused a bit of confusion. As Pete is not a regular I wanted to check that he didn't fall into this category!

Just had a look at the points table and some of the points seem to differ from what I have on my table. Although Leigh and Richard came 3rd and 4th respectively in both races at Brands they have been awarded 19 and 17 points per race as if they came 2nd and 3rd. Now I notice that Pete Reeves is not on the points table but he did take 2nd in both races and was not disqualified. Surely in that case 3rd and 4th places still get 17 and 15 points respectively? Yes? No?

Iirc Pete was a guest driver, so doesn't get any points. For championship points its as if he wasn't there. So 3rd gets points for 2nd. Etc. Same as hogetts and Moore in the G50s last weekend

Umm that's strange as last week had me and Richard only got 17 and 15 points respectively, I've had 4 3rd and got 17 points each time. but now as you say it's 19 and 17 and Pete Reeve has been taken out, only reason I can think of that he racing as a guest driver. I'm not sure what the rules re-points are for this.

All clear above, guests get no points. As Pete only seems to do Brands, I'm sure he is a guest....don't see anyone wanting to pay £500+ to one event!!

As I stated when the points went up, they were subject to change when I found out whether or not Pete was a guest or not. I have subsequently found out that he was a guest and have ammended the table. In future I will check this with JR before publishing anything - should have waited this time really!

I noticed Pete is registered from the series on the BRSCC list, also if he's doing 2 meeting I would think he would be registered for the series, and hence get points.

Oh and I know this hurts me the most on the points system. Just trying to be fair.

Pete is registered you have to be to enter however, as I felt the other year if your only entering the odd round and not interested in the championship its a little unfair on the guys who do commit to the whole season and are looking for points to take them off them. so thats what pete's doing.

Im many championships its the norm to not allow people to get points if they enter after a certain point in the season to stop ringers being brought in to effect the championship results.

I must admit I'd prefer not to run for points as Im only interested in racing, and championship points can geet in the way. I.e. when i won the series I got ahead and then could then settle for 2nd's and still win the championship, so didnt fight as hard for the wins.

Sorry to speak about someone in the 3rd person, but does that mean that Peter (or anyone else like Peter) should be discounted from the grid in numbers, three class B cars including Peter, therefore grid is deemed to be only two cars and reduced points??

John, there was 4 running in class B at brands Hatch, Me, Pete, Richard and Keith so even without Pete there was still 3 runners

Probably shoulnt count towards the runners as for points not there.. That sort of thing with points is a mare..

where do you count the runners..

Number on the entry
number at the circuit
number starting qually
number on grid
number of finishers?


I.e. I've twice in the past gone to a race qualified on pole but not started the race should that count. I also didnt finish the second race at snetterton should that count ?


The simple answer is just to get more blinking cars on the grid then its not an isssue :-) there's you challenge for next season for everyone to bring along at least one extra driver...

I'd count someone as having started if they get a DNF on the score sheet. That puts it in the hands of the timekeepers! My points sheet is automatically adjusted for starters though as all DNF racers are entered as well as finishers as I log best laps as well as points, weather etc

Alex has his ards on 10th august if we can get the taz to oulton he will be out for the last race this season ( thats assuming he passes the test)
