First Trip To Le Mans
Discussion
Myself and a friend decided this was the year we would get down to France and soak up the delights of the race. We also decided to bolt on a quick surf trip to La Torche to make it an extra special weekend.

We got the Thursday ferry from Newhaven and was delighted to see some great car lining up in the car park.

We got to Le Mans on Friday night and went out for a ride. We loved the atmosphere at Arnage Village with great cars passing though and the odd water gun being used. All good fun..

This is where things go a bit wierd.. On the ride back to the campsite we seemed to get bitten by mosqitoes. My mate and I woke up in the night feeling terrible, he went for a walk and I did not see him again until 2pm Sunday. He got himself to the Medical Centre, where hs spent the next 2 days on a drip.
I got to the Medical Centre on Sunday and was told my mate was is the Chapel of Rest.
I lay in the back of my van (that we were camping in) and remember hearing the cars running on Saturday and then waking up early Sunday.
The journey home was terrible and I am still unable to walk.
So does anyone know much about these Le Mans super mosqitoes?

Drunk?
Dodgy food?
Doc said we both had a severe reaction to being bitten, we'd had one beer at the bar at Arnarge and as neither had of us sickness the food thing is eliminated.Drunk?
Dodgy food?
All very annoying but I'd love to go again..

My first LeMans, great time great company, great cars.
Have to congratulate the organizers and locals for cost effective weekend, with convenient free car parking to view the 'off circuit' sections, especially Arnage corner.
and peaceful camp site with well maintained facilities. (loos never ran out of paper!!!!)
p.s. mine is the green 1967 MGB Roadster and my sons 1971 MGB GT (his third trip in his)
