This looks like being a strong McLaren circuit. McLaren have good form going into this race having dominated the top two steps of the podium in Turkey and Canada.

Red Bull seem to be making silly mistakes and not pouncing on easy opportunities.

Ferrari had a stronger showing in Canada, but they still have the spaghetti management system in place.

The championship is all to play for still with 5 drivers in close contention.

The fans in the stands (if there are any this year) attention will be on Alonso and Algersuari (sp) as the local boys.

I'll add the BBC times onto the bottom of this post in a bit.

To be fair, you're both right.

Ferrari are bringing some major modifications to Valencia, this diffuser type exhaust thingy - that's not its technical name. So I see it as something of a watershed for them. If there's no/little improvement then things might be a bit depressed in the red motorhome.

I can't help thinking it will be a bit of a downer after Canada, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Really got me going. It was the sort of race you remember for a long time. Valencia has been forgettable in the past.

Still, with the tyre situation seemingly difficult to resolve there's a chance that tactics might play a vital role.

I've a friend I normally watch GPs with and we normally put forward our ideas on the next race at the end of the previous one. When I asked after Canada my mate said: I'm damned if I know. And I'm damned if you know either.

And that sort of sums it up.

Red Bull must get their act together. They are under threat from McLaren and Ferrari. It really is close. The best pairing is, undoubtedly(?), Hamilton and Button and their different driving styles means that McL are strong at every circuit. Seb and Mark give the impression of not pulling together. How often have we said that McLaren's man management will see them through? Never, I think. How times have changed.

LH's quallifying performance has got to make him a strong contender given the overtaking limitations of the circuit but beyond that I believe anything would be a guess.

They said in the Canada coverage that the circuit was quite similar to Canada in set-up.

I guess it might be heavy on brakes...

The Ferrari update is aimed at providing hi-speed downforce so not sure how applicable it will be at Valencia which has a similar mixture of slow corners and fast straights as Canada.

I still think Red Bull will be untouchable in qualifying, they just seem to have massive outright speed (on short runs, and with no fuel on board).

Ferrari will do themselves no favours at all in they havent managed to sort something for the 'spanish' fans.

Kubica could make a nuisance of himself again if all things hold together for him but Im hoping as ever, for Lewis and Jenson to display superior 'measured tactics', pace and race craft to extend their individual and team points.
