Britcar weekend for a first timer.

I've never been to the Silverstone Britcar 24 hours event, but I plan to this October. The only race weekend that I've camped at is Le Mans, and you have to book that months in advance. I hope I'm not writing this thread as a last minute help to get me booked in.
So, I hoped that I could have a few questions answered to give me some idea of how things run.
I've gathered that the camping is run by WRR. Is this on and around the circuit like at Le Mans, walkable shall I say?
Also, do I remember reading that the grandstands are free to all? I guess I'll need a general entry as a base ticket, can you get pit passes as a member of the public or is it open to all?
What is the program of events? Any practice/ qualifying races mid week worth seeing. I had planned on going down Friday daytime/ after work (5pmish), meeting a few friends down there and setting up camp. Then leaving sometime on Sunday evening after the race. Sound the norm?

As i have been to all the previous Silverstone 24h this is a rough idea as to what goes on,
Thursday: Test day 9.00am to 5.00pm
Friday: day qually for Britcar, plus support race qually (5-6 support series)
There is usally some races in the afternoon, then Britcar night qually 8.00pm -10.00pm
A pit walk about between 5.00pm and 6.00pm
Saturday: support races and the Britcar 24h
Sunday: Britcar 24h
This is a rough idea as to what is going on, I am sure one of the britcar team will be along to give more detail
As for paddock access this is included in your general ticket along with grandstands ect, infact Most of the britcar teams will let you into there garage for a closer look at the cars, just make sure its a quiet time for the teams and just ask, or even better get youself along to one of the next Britcar rounds and say hello.

The White Rabbit Campsite is litrally just behind the grandstands, so no more than 50m to the track!
The grandstands are free, which is great as i managed to walk around the track and get great viewing points from everywhere.
The pit area is also open, although not the pit line during the race. But you can stroll around the back and watch the teams during the race.
I do both Le Mans and Britcar and they both have there own key features. Britcar is a much better enviroment to watch the teams and to get really into the race and follow whats going on. Le Mans has the atmosphere.
Hopefully with this years free ticket offer for the race the atmosphere will be boosted and will see a much higher number of people at the track!

I better look up at free ticket offer, as free is better than having to pay after all!
Britcar sounds just as hoped, so it should be a cracker of a short weekend. If it's brilliant, I may take off a few extra days for next year and make it a short weeks trip like Le Mans.
As it is, this year I'll be travelling down on the Friday and leaving after the race on the Sunday.
On another point though, I emailed through to WWR as there was a problem when I tried to sign up to browse the forum. The site says that it won't accept gmail.com email address'. This is all I have, any worky round?
