If my experience of Pirelli is anything to go by, there'll be alot more front wings collecting soil samples around the circuits ;-)

During the period when any tyre supplier could supply tyres to teams Benetton used to be supplied by Pirelli.

Bit obvious though, since Pirelli and Michelin were in the frame for the F1 tyre supply and this is the only major tyre supply contract currently up for grabs in the Motorsport field.

Cheers, I don't read or know much about F1 anymore.

Pirelli make good tyres for bikes so I suppose they'll get on the ball in the car tyre world sooner rather than later.

Bridgestone used to be a bit of a laughing stock tyre wise on bikes but not any more espically with their involvement with Moto GP and F1.

It can only be a good thing for Pirelli to get involved in F1, just think another tyre manufacturer putting decent road rubber out there for performance cars.

Some crap tyres might make the racing interesting again.

May I suggest to them two types of tyres, one type that will last 98% of a GP distance at normal running and one which is 1.5 seconds a lap quicker but will only last 45% of a GP distance. Make it a free choice for tyre strategy.

Back when it was originally opened up I thought Avon were a good option. But somewhere along the line they dropped out and now we have Pirelli.

What slicks do they currently make? Anything for GTs or Touring cars?
