EJ and BBC Appreciation

Just me or anyone else really enjoy EJ's presenting and in fact that of all the BBC team? Great coverage today, a mix of light hearted and informative. DC/EJ/JH are a great team despite or maybe because of their biases. I won't mention Legard but he doesn't grate with me.

I think they make a great team - you've got a good presenter, a driver who's been there long enough to be able to offer a solid opinion on nearly any situation, and finally the joker (in a good way!)who doesn't mind getting stuck in and asking the questions that others may shy away from! The banter between them always seems genuine, and makes for good entertainment - long may it continue!

Definitely a fantastic job today, especially the forum. Thought there was too much "ask the audience" though. Great to hear Murry Walker's opinions on everything aswell. Great job BBC I say, and long may it continue!

I agree. It was a really excellent piece of broadcasting. And at least when the drivers are asked a question they (well most of them) come out with a fairly lucid response, unlike footballers who seem to be up themselves. Muppets!


And EJ has definately got better - he's quite the investgative reporter these datys.

I know it wasn't strictly the BBC, but the driver tracker on the beeb website I thought was fantastic, really gave you a sense of how close the cars were to each other other than just the ones on the screen. Also when the commentators (or Ted at least) went on about slotting back into a gap, you could see what they were talking about! Great to have it on the laptop next to me to glance at every now and again.

And you know2 what - they concentrate on the motor spport - not the "celebrity" nonsense that ITV seemed to be fixated on. TOne day ITV spent 30 minutes euoligising about Red Bull's hospitality suite and from that point on I knew they had lost the plot.

The coverage has been really good this weekend, live and pre recorded (pub quiz and bbq). Its 2 races now that I've agreed with stuff that EJ has said and disagreed with Coulthard, last race about Webber going skywards and the speed difference in the cars, and this race with Alonso's penalty. When EJ first started at the beginning of last season, I never thought that would happen . The only thing I could fault is the 'hello mum' twonks in the background on the phone and waving to the camera .

Its been non-stop "We hate EJ" since he started, yet he has been deliberately setting out his stall to be on a different angle to the others. I dont recall anyone else apart from me defending him for the last 18months.

Rule no 3 chaps rule no 3.

i've always praised EJ. He can be a bit of a self-publicist occasionally but this is more than compensated for in his interviewing where is often prepared to ask the questions nobody else will, and he can sometimes see to the heart of the matter, what has really gone on, when the other two can't (e.g. Button and Hamilton in turkey).

Yeah, I loved being able to have this running on my laptop while watching the race. Handy to see where all the drivers are and be able to work out which cars are being shown on TV. BBC coverage this season is getting better and better.
