Kimi to Red Bull ?

I know Kimi has been linked to Renault next year and Mark has a contract, For what its worth now days, But I wonder if RB will have KR instead.
Kimi could not care less about having Vettle as a ,team mate?,
All comes down to Mark winning the WC this year.

As i said Mark has a contract but they mean nothing, Kimi still had a year left on his Ferrari contract, Money talks and bearing in mind his Red Bull links with Citroen.
Mark may feel that he will get treated better at Renault.

also, i think Webber to Williams, FI or Renault isnt such a bad move, all top 10 cars in the right hands.

Not sure why Redbull would take such a risk with Kimi. I cant think of what he could possibly bring to the team and if they could afford his wage demands.

I don't think money is an issue.

Webber has been with the team for what, 4 seasons? I don't see him leaving.

That said, Vettel has come up through the RB ranks, so I don't see him going either.

OK, contracts may not mean anything... but there is no such thing as bad press either...

Spoke with a lawyer friend about Webber's contract and they reckon that if equal treatment was promised in the contract then he's got an out. The fact that an item was removed from his car and placed on his competitor's is, it would appear, a bit of a no-no contract-law-wise. This evidently incurred a sharp intake of breath on behalf of the lawyer. This is not a good sign.

Humiliation comes into it as well as this is actionable – that makes Eddie Jordan a millionaire if only he could find a way to sue his mouth.

All contracts are ‘negotiable’, even (or possibly mainly) after they have been signed. If Mark wants to leave and some action on behalf of RBR can be shown to have caused this change of heart then, unlike Button, there will be a way that will probably not cost him too much.

Webber's feelings do not have to have a reasonable foundation. RBR must have known how 'normal' drivers would feel after such behaviour and they must take that into consideration.

I was told that most contracts are signed in hope rather than expectation.

I fail to see why anyone would sign Kimi... yes.. he is fast.. when he can be bothered... just my opinion...

I can see exactly where this post is coming from, something has got to give at Redbull... they have an awesome car, equally excellent talent in many departments but Christian Horner is going to explode if his face gets any redder!! (metaphorically and physically!)

...the current McLaren 'Love-in' makes relations at Redbull look even worse.

I'm just not sure what they can do to smooth over the cracks + we are only half way through the season, things could really boil over soon!

If Webber leaves Red Bull because he feels he's not getting equal treatment with Vettel, I can't see Kimi signing on for the same treatment.

It's not like he needs the money.......

I think that's a great call by the OP. In fact, if Vettel wins the driver title this year, I can see that being odds on to happen...after all, they are an image company and (IMHO) I don't think there's a driver out there with more of that "Red Bull" image than Kimi....

I like Webber a lot, but think that this year could be his final one to win the title...I guess that given his old ties to Mercedes, he might end up there if Schumacher decides to ride off into the sunset....but for him to go to Williams?...I don't think they could pay him enough...and I can't see them providing the car for him to win the WDC if he fails to secure it this year...

It's all about motivation for Kimi - if he is engaged in what he is doing and happy with his position, he'll produce results. I think he'd do very well at RBR

I think Kimi knows now he is never going to beat the top drivers in the WRC , but he would still be able to challenge any of the top GP drivers given the right car.
I presume part of the huge payout Ferrari paid him to make way for Alonso was the proviso he did not compete in F1 in 2010 season.
Plus the fact he was never going to be a team leader at ferrari in the MS or Alonso mould.
I did read that if Petrov does not pull his socks up at Renault, Kimi is top of their shopping list.
Whatever you may think about the Iceman he did win the WC and is a multiple GP winner and now the huge salaries are a thing of the past. He is affordable.
Be interesting what teams steve robertson visits during the coming months.

Also i do wish Dieter would dump Horner as i find him totally obnoxious and his patronising remark to Mark about having a smile back on his face distainful.

But regular race winners and WDC contenders?

Not in the next few years at least. Webber doesn't have that long - he's too old. He needs to win this season or next.

But then you never know who's pulling his strings behind the scenes.
