Didn't see the F1 forum but......

http://adamcooperf1.com/2010/07/13/bbc-furious-as-...

Adam Cooper said:
Ron Dennis has apparently angered the BBC after he sabotaged Eddie Jordan’s equipment during the post race show at Silverstone – literally cutting off his fellow former team boss in his prime.

Dennis has a history as a practical joker, building himself a reputation during the Ayrton Senna/Gerhard Berger era at McLaren.

He appeared in the background behind Jordan at the start of a question and answer session with Christian Horner, but then quickly disappeared with a big smile on his face.

As Eddie began to talk to Horner he had no sound through his ears, and when a BBC technician dashed into inspect EJ’s equipment he found that the wires from the control box on his belt to his earpieces – specially made for him much like those used by drivers – had been cut. He thus couldn’t hear the director or properly participate in the show, and when standard set of earpieces was hurriedly supplied, they kept falling out.

EJ didn’t find the Dennis joke as funny as Ron did, and neither did the BBC, and apart from anything else Ron had in effect damaged equipment paid for by the taxpayer…

Apparently Martin Whitmarsh was also a little embarrassed by the behaviour of the McLaren chairman, who has otherwise kept a low profile this year.

Jordan is believed to be on holiday at the moment, and it remains to be seen whether any further action is taken.

Readers in the UK can check out the incident and its aftermath on the BBC iPlayer at around the 2:31.30 mark…

D'you know, for once EJ asked some sensible questions without rambling. Perhaps we should block his ears permanently.

Jeses. Lighten up., or is this a sign of the times...? I cant imagine Senna taking the small issue of Berger throwing his briefcase out of a Helicopter further...

Good man.

About time the F1 paddock became a place for fun, and not big business.

Everyone just thought there was a 'technical issue', so it didn't actually raise an eyebrow, let alone a laugh.

Whilst I don't think it is exactly crime of the century, I'm sure he could have found a more inventive and amusing way to take the michael out of EJ.

It's hard to come up with something better than his choice of shoe.

haha! quality! one of the many reasons why sundays GP was one of the best I have seen - just the whole thing seemed, i dont know, natural, and not pre-scripted in anyway. As for EJ - i cant for a second believe he would be bothered. He has a sense of humour - anyone wearing mauve trousers must have!

Ron was probably just very excited at getting another step closer to have the constructors championship 2010 plauque embelishing his new car!

I've got a friend who is a member of what, jocularly, they think of as the unofficial "Irish Mafia". EJ is also amongst this group.
EJ had a house in Spain, with a large pool in back. He was having the gang over for a barbecue and the rest.
It was an open secret amongst the guys that Eddie was very sensitive about his follicular circumstances, and took great pains to conceal the fact that not all his locks were genuinely Jordanian.

During the standard frolicking around the pool, as normal Eddie took a dramatic dive into the water. Waiting for exactly this inevitable moment, one of the Mafia pulled out a cheap salt-and-pepper toupee and tossed it into the water directly in front of where Eddie was about to surface.
Eddie came up for air, someone pointed and shouted, "Eddie, is that yours?", and the cyncial Formula One hardman looked, panicked, desperately grabbed the floating rug and slapped it onto his head.

bow to Ron.

Typical reaction by the BBC - and I'm sure they guilty of 'wasting' plenty of taxpayers money without any outside help.

Excellent, and the BBC needs to seriously lighten up. Considering the fortunes it wastes in other areas, a bit of a joke that adds a bit of humour to the TV broadcast can only be a win win.

Anyway, if they really wanted to get snotty, i'm sure Ron Dennis would pay the few quid for some new leads.

Miserable feckers!

You can just see the way this could go..

rather than :--

bbc : Ron very funny ha ha, can you replace the 5 quid lead you broke
Ron : yeah sure here you go..

We'll get

BBC having Ron arrested for criminal damage ( police cost about 2 grand)
Police investigation ( cost 30 grand)
CPS looking at charging him.. another 20 grand.
court case probably cost the cps millions as ron now pissed off and has big lawyers.

RON wins. legal bods win, tax payer looses.

BBC then try to sue ron for percieved damages something daft like a million.
BBC spend another million on legal fees
Ron wins again, legal bods win, tax payer looses

BBC commentary team never get access to mclaren drivers or the team until shortly after Hell freezes over.
