Villeneuve Racing

It appears (in the German Press at least) that Jacques Villeneuve is in the running for the vacant 13th team slot in F1. His organisation has apparently met all the FIA's financial demands to date too...with backing from Flavio Briatore (allegedly). Also under "allegely" is Pat Symond's involvement.

In all fairness, that was Adrian Reynard who said that and Craig Pillock was none too impressed at the time.

That doesn't stop Craig Pillock from being a total knobber though.

He's 39 and whilst he's an ex-WDC he hasn't exactly done much since 1997. If Schumacher is struggling this year, then why on earth does Villeneuve still think he's got a chance in F1 anymore?

Just retire gracefully Jacques, you've obviously made a pile of cash, go home and count it and stop making yourself look like a sad b*stard who can't let go.

Can't really understand why he'd want to start an F1 team, as the odds on succeeding must be pretty small unless he has some serious backing. Name alone isn't going to attract the money needed. Would have though an ALMS / GT / IRL team would be less of a risk and more likely to actually win things?
