Just to remind those of you that do not frequent the main Racing Forum (and the forum of another well known website beginning with "10") that the 360 motor Racing Club's inaugral 6 hour race for club racers WILL take place on 15 August at Snetterton as NOT FOR PROFIT event.

The aim is to attract club racers who would normally be unable to race in events like the Spa 6 hours or the Guards Trophy etc.

The club are still taking entries and can have a grid of 47 for the event. Entrance fee is likly to be less than £1000 & there is the possibility of a rebate if the full grid number is approached.

In order to encourage as wider particaption as possible, the eligibility parameters have been extended. So, the event was originally targeted for saloon and GT cars built between 1968 and 1986, but this has now been extended backwards to include Pre 1968 touring cars and also production sports cars, provided 1000 examples have been built.

This is a very long race so a well prepared, reliable and consistent older car could still be in with a shout of a top ten finish, although naturally, we don't wish to see a high attrition rate.

There is also a Invtation Class for those cars hat don't strictly apply to the eligibility criteria but are considered to be in the spirit of the event and we have stated that TVR Tuscans with a max capacity of 3.9 will be allowed in the invitation class and the TVR "wedges will also definately be eligible.

A Porsche 962 and a Le Mans Aston Martin will be demonstrated at the event.

Radio Le Mans will be providing coverage.

Practice and 6 hours of race track time for < £1000.

Im tempted in either a tuscan orf taz, if they'll let us in. I think both would need to run in invitation as they rules say 2+2 for gt's

Be nice to drive my old car again Kev - let me know the details etc please. biggrin

N.B. I also have 4 compo rims (fruit shoot purple!) with nearly new Toyo 888s somewhere that'll go straight on (they're list 1b iirc?).

Hi charlie

He who must be obeyed (18yr old whipper snapper) has the car in bits in my garage and its slowly getting there. We have a lot more work to do yet so not sure about the 360 at present as we may only do the sprint race instead.

Hi Kev, I too am think about doing the 30 minute sprint race before the 360. I won't be able to book it though until I've tested the car at the end of March. If all goes well, and if there are places left on the grid, I'll probably send in my entry. Should be an interesting race.

The tuscan should be there anyway as i want to race it before our season starts. Thats assuming i can get the website entry to work for me.

Guys, where were you all? This years race took place on 30 April & there were no TVRs even in the support race, I was hoping for a couple at least!

I'd still like to see Sportscars in the main 6 hour race but, so far, the organisers are resistant to the idea. If, however, you are interested in entering next years race (2012) then please let me know asap & I will lobby for the chnage in regs. I have been set a challenge to prove that sportscar racers are interested in a 6 hour race by 15 June & the organisers want deposits by then, too. This is unrealistic but if committment can be demonstrated in some way, & entries made & deposits paid by the end of the year then that would be a start.

The entry fee should still be circa £1000 & this year most cars did the race on 1 set of List 1 B tyres. I shared an Alfa with 2 others & spent no more personally than 3 CSCC entry fees in total, inc fuel, race support, entry, food, the whole lot.

It was great event this year with 16 starters. Not enough, but the event is growing. Cars ranged from an Aston to a Mini to a Clan Crusader! The atmosphere was fantastic with a great sense of teamwork, camaraderie, banter & challenge. Believe me, at club level a 6 hour race is aa real endurance race & there is no where else in this country that can deliver the same experience at anywhere near this cost.

I was very disapointed when the regulations came out as I had been hoping to do this and bring a few cars, Especailly as I had expressed an interest and asked to be kept abreast of the regulations and submitted some suggestions after last year..

When the regs came out the excluded almost every TVR ever built I thought its obvious they dont want us to come and play so filed in in the FU section of the bin.

I was interested in the first year, but the option to put a smaller engine in came up too last to do anything about it. I was interested this year but the regs excluded us, im sorry but I've moved on now..
