Huge Banger Crash!
Discussion
Apologies if this is wrong section but I saw this on another forum and felt it needed to be shared.
Quote from Passionford:
"Went watching bangers last weekend at buxton raceway,In bangers your meant to push towards the wall then pull away but this guy kept his foot down happens about 1 min in"

That is a huge impact!!
20 minutes to cut the driver out and the only injury was a broken nose.
Absolute nutters.

Ive no idea but from what I have read on the original thread he "was asked to leave the track".

Also, pics of the car.
That steering wheel and bulkhead are awfully close, he is very very lucky not to have been killed.

Is this classed in any way as Motorsport?
That just looked like attempted murder to me!
No wonder there aren't any Cortinas and Granadas left.
I have never understood the appeal of being in so close a proximity to so many scrap dealers, thieves and pikeys in one place.
I dare say that there are a limited number of genuine people who enter for the sport, but one has to wonder what sort of sport that is!
Neil.

It always amazes me, some of the wrecks these guys clamber out of (or are cut out of). However, there are rules on how the cars are put together & a lot of time and money goes into their preparation. So it isn't just down to luck.
These 'Follow Ins' don't normally end with such horrific results - usually a glancing blow or contact with another car but there are plenty of similar smashes on YouTube. Some of the motivation for the drivers must be to get a reputation for a huge smash - so stopping people from these actions can't be easy.

Hats off the the guy with the camera he stood is ground so he's as much of a nutter as they are,as for follow ins depending on the cars and speed most will fold up usually the driver is lucky not to get hurt like this Massive one at the Mendips 30 ish seconds inThese 'Follow Ins' don't normally end with such horrific results - usually a glancing blow or contact with another car but there are plenty of similar smashes on YouTube.
