In the wake of the German GP and the controversy around Team Orders, which Championship is of more importance to F1.

If it's purely about the driver, why not just have a one make series and be done with it?

There are plenty of one make series around. I personally find them a bit dull.

I want to see teams of designers try and develop better machines than their competitors, and have the drivers try to extract the best from those machines. Otherwise it would get very boring indeed IMO - the FIA's moves to standardise things to keep costs at bay are a mistake IMO. The rules should be opened up more to allow the designers/teams more of a free leash and more influence in proceedings.

Driver to the general public which I would presume is all that really matter as sponsors drive the sport.

Voted WDC as that's all I give a feck about, but if it were all about finding the best driver in the world, F1 would be about a different type of racing in equal cars each meeting.

e.g.
Round 1 karts
R2 Rallying
R3 DTM
R4 Formula Ford
R5 Touring cars
R6 F3
R7 GP2
R8 F1 1500bhp turbos
R9 F1 500bhp ground effect
R10 F1 400bhp zero aero
R11 F1 800bhp mincy faggot TC/active ride
R12 F1 700bhp modern crap
etc.

It would certainly cure all the 'who is the best' arguments!

From a business perspective, the WCC.

From a sporting perspective, the WDC.

What one thinks is more important depends on which of those two aspects - business or sporting - one thinks is more important in F1.

Without the sport there wouldn't be business.

Unless you take it to the extreme like WWF where people pay pay for the "spectacle" not unlike a stage show or movie.

F1 has to tread a careful balance, losing either side is a disaster.

It's the team championship that brings the teams money, not the WDC.

Yes, so to the team the WCC is 'more' important, to the driver it's the WDC.

Have you ever seen "Race of Champions"?

I saw this when it was at Wembley a couple of years ago. It runs annually in different countries now.
