Is it just me, or does the scale of fines for "incidents" need looking at in F1?

Long, long thread on "team orders". Team get fined $100k and potentially has more to come.

Two, IMO, extremely serious team cock ups in the pit lane at Hungary, and the teams get $50k apiece. Something seems out of kilter to me...

Both Merc & Renault ruined their own races with their ineptness wheras Ferrari still got both cars onto the podium.

Thus they pay more.

If you want to put it simplistically.

Fact is you can't compare the offences as they were of very different natures.

I'm not sure that fines are an effective punishment anyway (unless the object is to swell the FIAs coffers).

MS got a 10 grid place penalty for his indiscretion which I think is a much better way of punishing.

But I agree that punishments seem to be very randomly applied.
