A useless waste of space with deep pockets. Had a brief stint driving for Super Aguri and another for Spyker the year after. He's won pretty much nothing in his entire racing career

Could there be more to this than meets the eye? I reckon HRT can't afford to lose Yamamoto, and without his cash they'll go under.

Why arnt they racing Cristian Klein instead of Yamamoto? They would rather be a laughing stock at the back of the grid with one of the owrst drivers ever in F1 who gets tired after 15 laps than have a chance to beat their rival newbie teams (unlikely as their car is the worst one where anyway).
