there's a few of us heading over a week on friday for the weekend, has anyone from been over for it??
I've heard stories over the years of people gettting to their allocated seats and finding the locals occupying them. hopfully this is not the case these days!
anyone useful advice accepted (especially what the price of beer is!)

Plenty of threads on here from the last few years (and on the Autosport site in the forums for attending races) - google search should bring them up or browse back to Aug 2009.

I attended last year with General Access tickets.
Plenty of facilities - food/drink/loos/etc.

Get a Kangaroo TV if you can - normally some offers around - you get BBC 5 live feed, all the video and telemetry, etc. Not cheap but worth it for race day if you are away from a big screen.

No problems with finding things out - all the site staff speak some English, and some of the hosts are fluent.

It was brilliant and found the crowd very very nice - we were sat in the cheap seats surrounded by Italians (deliberately) and we had a great time (probably helped by the fact that I was wearing Ferrari gear)

Don't forget you can walk the track after the race.
All very well organised by the circuit and very un-Italian!

We're flying out on the Thursday and staying at a hotel near the airport. We've hired a car and are planning to drive to the circuit - I suspect this might turn out to be a nightmare.

Park and ride was very well signposted - very good coaches (lined up, back to back) that were given priority by the police... sailed through the traffic. Pick a park and ride, but be prepared to walk a lot no matter what - it's a huge park.

Last time I went we drove straight in and parked on the inside by the parabolica, but that was for the european GT championship! This time were flying in friday morning and staying in Bergamo and getting the train to monza, according to the autosport forum (thanks for the tip) theres free buses from monza station to the circuit

Yup - the buses pick up from in front of the station - free - and well signposted. Follow everyone else...
We stayed in Como and the trains / service and connections were excellent. It's about 1.5 mile walk from the bus drop to the circuit. After the quali / race I think the bus was the quickest way out.

Just avoid the con artists as you walk in - plenty of them, some very good...
